Capt. Richard Halluska
Richard is a Client Development professional in our Marine team, capitalizing on his extensive maritime experience to identify and support marine clients with complex insurance needs.
Captain Halluska has spent over 45 years in the maritime industry. Following graduation from Kings Point, the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), he spent 13 years at sea, out of which 5 years as Master. Later, he joined the management team of a major US shipowner, eventually serving as Senior VP of Operations responsible for insurance and risk management. He later founded a safety and risk management consulting firm which merged with B&P International – a marine insurance brokerage firm where he was a partner. B&P International was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher in 2004, where Richard was a regional Executive VP until retirement in 2014.
Richard has remained active in maritime circles, informally consulting with his former partners while also remaining engaged with the Kings Point Alumni Association where he is a Board Member. He unretired in 2021 in order to pursue business opportunities with two of his former colleagues, both partners in the McGill and Partners Marine team.
If Richard was not working for McGill and Partners, he would remain active with the USMMA Alumni Foundation providing financial and educational support for Midshipmen and Faculty.
“I joined McGill and Partners for the opportunity to work with former colleagues I respect in an ethical business environment.”
